Should flapjacks be soft when baked?
There is no one answer to this question, as some people prefer their flapjacks to be softer while others prefer them to be more firm.
If you are looking for a softer flapjack, be sure to bake them for a shorter amount of time. In this recipe, bake them for 20 for a soft flapjack. If you are looking for a firmer flapjack, bake them for a longer amount of time, about 25 minutes. Experiment and see what you prefer!
What type of oats are best for flapjacks
Rolled oats are the best type of oats to use for flapjacks. They are more processed than other types of oats, which makes them easier to cook with and makes a more chewy flapjack. They also have a higher protein content, which makes them a great option for a quick snack.
If you cannot find rolled oats, you can also use quick oats or even oat flour. Just be sure to adjust the cooking time accordingly.
How do you make gluten-free flapjacks?
To make gluten-free flapjacks, simply substitute the oats for a gluten-free variety. You can also use oat flour, which is readily available at most health food stores. Be sure to adjust the other ingredients accordingly, as gluten-free flours often have different absorbencies than regular flour. If you are unsure, it is always best to consult a recipe specifically designed for gluten-free baking.
What are some good toppings for flapjacks?
There are many delicious toppings that you can add to your flapjacks. Some popular options include fresh fruit, nut butter, honey, chocolate chips, and shredded coconut. Try my fruit, nut and choc chip flapjacks. Or, for a more indulgent flapjack try my Flapjack Brownies!

Gooey flapjacks without butter
Butter is delicious. There’s no denying that. But for those who don’t want to consume dairy or who are vegan, there’s a delicious alternative: vegan butter! Vegan butter is made from plant oils, and it tastes just as good as the real thing. Plus, it’s perfect for baking gooey flapjacks or rich cakes. So if you’re looking for a delicious butter alternative, go for vegan butter! You won’t be disappointed.
