Today, I will show you how to make fluffy coconut milk flatbreads perfect for serving your favourite curry dish. So get ready to try something new – these flatbreads are delicious!

How to make flatbreads for curry

These coconut milk flatbreads are so easy to make. Add the flour to your bowl with a pinch of salt. Add the coconut milk and mix until it forms a soft dough. Transfer to a floured surface and divide into eight pieces. Roll each piece into a ball then flatten with your hand, and press with your fingertips for a rippled effect.

Add the oil and butter to the frying pan on medium heat and add the flatbreads one batch at a time. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side.

What goes with coconut flatbreads?

Coconut Milk – I use full fat for this recipe, but you can use reduced fat. You may need less of it when you add it to the flour.

Homemade flatbreads for a curry recipe

  • Pour the coconut milk into a large bowl along with a pinch of salt. Add the flour and mix thoroughly to create a dough.
  • On a floured surface, divide into 8 balls and flatten with your hands to about 1cm thickness. Prod with your fingers to make a rippled effect.
  • On medium heat, add some olive oil and butter to a frying pan and add a couple of flatbreads. Heat for 2 -3 minutes on each side until puffed up and fluffy. Repeat until all flatbreads are cooked.
  • Served with your favourite curry.
