How To Make Easy Mince Pasta Bake Recipe (Slow Cooker Version)

In your frying pan, fry the mince and onion in the olive oil over a medium-high heat until the meat has browned, for about 5 minutes. Drain any excess fat.

Transfer to the the slow cooker. Add the passata, stock and seasonings and stir well. Cover and cook on low for 5-6hrs.

When it’s nearly done, cook your pasta as per packet instructions and drain.

Just before (30 minutes) the slow cooker has finished, turn it to high and add the cream cheese. Stir until fully melted. Then stir through your cooked pasta. Level out and top with the grated cheddar. Leave for 10 minutes or until the cheese has melted then serve.

How Long Will It Keep?

If you have leftovers (which is rare because it’s so delicious!), this slow cooker mince recipe stays fresh in the refrigerator for up to 3 to 4 days. Simply store it in an airtight container once it has cooled down. In fact, many people find that mince slow cooker meals taste even better the next day because the pasta has had more time to soak up that rich, herby tomato sauce. When reheating, you might want to add a tiny splash of water or extra marinara to keep the pasta from drying out.

Can I Freeze Slow Cooker Mince Pasta Bake?

Yes, you absolutely can! This is one of those slow cooker beef mince recipes that is perfect for meal prepping.

  • To freeze: Allow the bake to cool completely, then portion it into freezer-safe containers or heavy-duty freezer bags. It will stay good for up to 3 months.
  • To reheat: For the best texture, thaw it in the fridge overnight before reheating in the microwave or oven. If you’re in a rush, you can reheat from frozen, but be sure to stir it halfway through to ensure even heating.

Serving Suggestions

While this dish is a hearty meal on its own, you can really elevate it with the right sides. To complete these pasta bakes with mince, I recommend:

  • Garlic Bread: A crispy, buttery baguette is perfect for mopping up any leftover sauce.
  • Fresh Green Salad: A simple side salad with a light vinaigrette helps balance the richness of the beef mince slow cooker sauce.
  • Extra Cheese: A sprinkle of fresh parmesan or extra shredded mozzarella on top right before serving never hurts!
  • Steamed Veggies: Broccoli or green beans add a nice crunch and a pop of color to the plate.

Top Tips for Success

  • Brown the Meat First: For the absolute best flavor in your slow cooker beef mince recipes, I highly recommend browning the mince in a pan before adding it to the slow cooker. This locks in the juices and prevents the meat from having a “boiled” texture.
  • Don’t Overcook the Pasta: If your recipe calls for adding the pasta directly into the slow cooker, keep an eye on it during the last 20–30 minutes. You want it al dente so it doesn’t turn mushy.
  • Veggie Boost: This is a great recipe for “hiding” vegetables. Finely grated carrots, zucchini, or chopped bell peppers melt right into the sauce, making it a nutritional powerhouse for kids.
