No need to buy waffles from Aldi or Tesco, these are easy to whip up and you can use any type of chocolate such as dark chocolate , milk or luxury Belgium chocolate. This recipe makes four very large waffles.

Ingredients

  • 3 Eggs
  • 125 g Sugar
  • 150 g Plain Flour
  • 1 tbsp Cocoa Powder
  • 1ยฝ tsp Baking Powder
  • ยผ tsp Salt
  • 50 g Dark Chocolate (at least 55% melted plus extra for topping)
  • 100 g Butter (melted)

How to Make Chocolate Waffles For the Waffle Maker

Melt the butter and chocolate together, either in the microwave at 30 second intervals or on the hob. Leave to cool slightly.

Whisk the eggs and sugar until light and fluffy in a electric mixer.

Mix the cocoa powder, baking powder, flour, and salt. Add to the egg batter along with melt chocolate and butter. Stir thoroughly.
