Easy blackcurrant and apple crumble is the perfect autumn dessert. This version combines tart apples and sweet blackcurrants for a delicious flavour combination. The oats give it a bit of crunch, making it irresistible!

Instructions
Add the blackcurrants and sugar to the pan on low heat until the sugar dissolves. Turn up to medium heat and cook for about 5 minutes until the blackcurrants go soft and the mixture is thick and saucy. Set aside.
In a separate pan, melt the butter and add the sugar. Add the chopped apples to the mix and cook for 5 minutes then take off the heat and set aside.
Preheat the oven to 160°cFAN/180°C/350F/Gas 4
In a bowl, mix the flour and granulated sugar and rub the cubed butter into thick breadcrumbs. Mix in the oats, salt and brown sugar.
Add the apple mixture to the baking dish and spread out. Top with the blackcurrant compote, and finally, add the final layer of the crumble mixture. Bake in the oven for 40 minutes until golden brown.
