Pork Mince Noodles (Chinese Bolognese)

This easy-to-make pork mince dish features tender pork mince cooked in a fragrant sauce of soy, garlic, and chinese 5 spice served over your favourite noodles. Perfect for a quick weeknight dinner or a special meal with family and friends, this recipe is versatile, customisable, and sure to please everyone at the table.

Ingredients
  

  • 500 g Pork Mince
  • 1 packet Egg Noodles (Dried or fresh)
  • 3 Celery sticks (Finely chopped in a processor)
  • 2 Carrots (Finely chopped in a processor)
  • 1 Vegetable Oil (or sesame oil)
  • 2-3 tsp Chinese 5 Spice
  • 1 Clove of Garlic (Finely chopped)
  • 1 tbsp Tomato Puree
  • 2 tbsp Balsamic Vinegar
  • 1 tsp Powdered vegetable stock
  • 1 Onion (Finely chopped)
  • 1 tbsp Soy Sauce (or Tamari)

Instructions
 

  • Cook the noodles as per packet instructions.
  • Heat a large frying pan with the oil on medium heat. Add the chopped onion and fry for 5 minutes until soft. Add the pork mince and fry on high until cooked through. Add the Chinese spice, garlic, stock powder, tomato puree, soy sauce and balsamic. Stir through. Add some boiled water to loosen the mixture.
  • Add the celery and carrots. Add a little water and cover with a lid. Cook for about 10 - 15 minutes. Add the cooked noodles and stir through.
