Preheat the oven to 180℃FAN/200℃. Line a baking tray or roasting tin 20cm x 30cm approx. with baking paper.
Whisk the eggs, sugar and oil in a bowl, then fold in the flour, ground ginger, baking powder, ground almonds and chocolate chips.
4 Eggs, 200 g Dark Brown Sugar, 200 g Self-Raising Flour, 1 tsp Baking Powder, 200 g Ground Almonds, 3 tsp Ground Ginger, 200 ml Oil, 100 g Dark Chocolate Chips
Pour the mixture into the tin and level out. Add the pear pieces on top, poking them into the batter. Bake for 30 minutes or until the skewer comes out clean. Leave to cool in the tin for 5 minutes the transfer to a wire rack.
1 Large Pear
Break up the chocolate into a bowl and melt in the microwave, 30 seconds at a time. Using a tablespoon add the chocolate sauce sauce on top of the cake in any direction.
100 g Milk Chocolate, 100 g Dark Chocolate
Cut into slices and serve.
