Preheat oven to 180 °c/160°c fan/, or gas 4. Grease and line a 23cm/9 inch square pa or brownie tin with baking paper.
Place the butter in a large bowl along with syrup and sugar and melt in the microwave for 2 minutes or until the sugar has dissolved. Add the oats and mix thoroughly until all oats are covered.
Transfer the oats to the tin and press firmly down.
Bake in the oven for about 20-25 minutes. Bake for 20 minutes for a gooey texture or 25 for a firmer, crispy texture. Mark with a knife where you are going to slice but don't cut through. Allow to cool completely before slicing.
