The Best Quince Marzipan Crumble Recipe - Tart And Crisp

A tart and fragrant autumn quince crumble with marzipan. It will definitely tantalise those taste buds!

Ingredients
  

  • 90 g Honey (¼ Cup)
  • Juice of 1 orange
  • Juice of ½ Lemon
  • 2 tsp Vanilla Bean Paste
  • 160 g Caster Sugar
  • 10 Quince (Peeled, cored and cut into small pieces or 5 large quince)
  • 150 g Plain Flour
  • 120 g Marzipan (broken into small pieces)
  • 100 g Unsalted Butter (Cold - Cut into cubes)
  • 25 g Flaked Almonds
  • ¼ tsp Salt

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 200℃/180℃ Fan. Mix the honey , orange juice, lemon juice, vanilla bean paste, and half the caster sugar in a bowl until smooth.

  • Add the quince pieces to the oven dish and pour the juice mixture over the top. Mix through. Cover with tin foil and bake for about 50 minutes until tender. Leave to cool for 10 minutes.

  • Meanwhile make the crumble. Mix the flour, marzipan, salt and the remaining sugar in a mixer or food processor until it forms fine crumbs. You can also use your fingertips to do this. Add the butter and mix again until clumps form then add the flaked almonds.
    160 g Caster Sugar, 150 g Plain Flour, 120 g Marzipan, 100 g Unsalted Butter, 25 g Flaked Almonds
  • Spread on a tray lined with baking paper and freeze for 10 minutes.
  • Sprinkle the crumble on top of the quince mixture, then bake for 30 - 35 minutes until the crumble is golden brown.
  • Serve with a dollop of crème fraiche.
