How To Make English Mustard From Mustard Powder

Ingredients
 
 

  • 75 g Mustard Powder
  • 100 ml Water
  • 50 ml Distilled White Vinegar
  • Salt to taste

Optional Ingredients

  • 1 tsp Tumeric
  • 1 tsp Sugar

Instructions
 

  • Mix the mustard powder with the vinegar and water in a bowl with a handheld whisk. Add salt to taste Mix everything together well until it forms a thick paste If it's too thick, add a little more water until you reach your desired consistency.
  • Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring to a simmer while stirring frequently. Cook for about 5 - 10 minutes until it has thickened. Remove from the heat and let cool slightly before spooning it into a jar or airtight container. Will keep it for up to 3 months.
